Deputy Nurse Manager 

Chorley / up to £45,000 / Perm / Days 

We are looking for a dynamic Deputy Nurse Manager to join a well-established care service.

This position offers the chance to step into a pivotal leadership role, supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and resident care.

Why This Role Matters

As Deputy Nurse Manager, you'll be at the heart of daily operations - guiding nursing teams, shaping care delivery, and making sure residents feel safe, supported, and valued.

You'll act as second-in-command, taking full responsibility whenever the Registered Manager is away.

What's on Offer for the Deputy Manager:

  • Contract: 36-48 hours per week
  • Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Additional: Participation in the on-call rota

     

Duties for the Deputy Manager include:

  • Lead and inspire nursing and care staff with confidence and compassion
  • Oversee clinical standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice
  • Coordinate with external professionals such as GPs and allied health teams
  • Support residents and families with clear, empathetic communication
  • Handle incidents, complaints, and safeguarding matters with professionalism
  • Drive recruitment, training, and staff development initiatives
  • Champion continuous improvement and a culture of excellence

     

About You:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with significant post-registration experience (6-8+ years)
  • Background in senior nursing or deputy management within a care environment preferred
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Passionate about person-centred care and safeguarding
  • Calm under pressure, able to prioritise and respond effectively in emergencies
