Assistant Production Manager Required - 6 month contract
Our client is a global, market leader in the design, development and manufacturing of drinks dispensing products.
On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Production Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Production Manager in delivering efficient production operations. Assisting with coordinating manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards, maintaining production schedules, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a 6 month contract, working hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-1pm based on their site in Chorley.
Package:
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (pro-rata)
- Up to 40,000 (pro-rata)

Assistant Production Manager (6 Month Contract) - Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and organising production schedules to meet customer demand and business goals.
- Coordinate daily production operations and monitor workflow to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Work closely with team leaders and shop floor staff to resolve issues and improve output.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Liaise with other departments including engineering, quality, and logistics to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting equipment or process-related issues.
- Collate production data and assist in reporting on key metrics such as output, downtime, and scrap rates.

Assistant Production Manager (6 Month Contract) - Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or junior management role within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Relevant qualification
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT literate - competent in using MS Office and production planning software (e.g., ERP/MRP systems)
