Hazel Tree are supporting a nurturing and forward-thinkingAlternative Provisionthat supports pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Many of our learners face significant challenges, includingsocial, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, trauma, and disrupted educational histories.
We are looking for aresilient, creative and student-centred English Teacherwho can deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons to small groups of KS3 and KS4 learners. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Responsibilities
Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
Has strong behaviour management skills and a trauma-informed approach
Understands the barriers faced by students in alternative provision and is committed to inclusive education
Is flexible, patient, and able to build meaningful relationships with challenging learners
Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
(Desirable) Has experience teaching in a PRU, SEMH school, or alternative education setting
(Desirable) Can teach Entry Level, Functional Skills and/or GCSE English
Is calm, confident, and able to maintain professional boundaries
Can remain resilient, compassionate and consistent in the face of challenging behaviours
Is committed to inclusion and understands the importance of unconditional positive regard
