This is an outstanding opportunity to join my client, a trusted, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, known for lending their professionalism to the infrastructure, transport, and environmental landscapes. They are currently seeking a capable, driven Senior Drainage Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure design who is willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside an already-established team of professionals, based near the historic, coastal town of Christchurch.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Drainage Engineer include:

  • Produce designs for drainage and highways in relation to the relevant Section Agreements (especially S104, S38, and S278)
  • Prepare technical assessments and other documents for new developments
  • Check and amend technical drawings and reports for submission
  • Support colleagues and clients to understand technical concepts
  • Prepare and supervise presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage projects, ensuring work is undertaken within budget and timeframes, to the highest of standards
  • Liaise closely with clients and Project Managers regarding project delivery
  • Ensure industry standards and regulations are always complied with

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Drainage Engineer include:

  • A Degree (or equivalent/higher qualification) in Civil Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, or a similar, relevant field
  • Extensive experience of working in an infrastructure design-based role, within a UK consultancy
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing designs (particularly with respect to the relevant Section Agreements, including S38, S278, S104)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the relevant software packages, including MicroDrainage, and/or Causeway Flow
  • Experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments and designing drainage strategies
  • Competent in your knowledge of relevant design standards, including Sewers for Adoption, DMRB, national planning policy, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civils 3D
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of applications (to include Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • A full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Drainage Engineer include:

  • Outstanding literacy and numeracy skills
  • Prior experience of managing stakeholders
