Are you an experienced CNC Setter/Operator looking to join a well-established precision engineering company with a strong reputation for quality and innovation? This is an excellent opportunity to work within a clean, modern workshop environment as part of a friendly and skilled production team.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components in line with detailed technical drawings and quality standards. You'll be working with a range of CNC machinery - using Mazatrol and Heidenhain controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to setup sheets and procedures.
- Operate CNC milling machines efficiently and safely to achieve production targets.
- Carry out in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Obtain First-Off Inspection approval before full production runs.
- Monitor production for tool wear, accuracy, and consistency.
- Maintain accurate records of operation times and production data.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and keep work areas clean and organized.
About You
- Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a precision engineering or subcontract machining environment.
- Confident using Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain controls.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Skilled in using inspection and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Team player with good communication skills.
Desirable
- Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or CNC Machining.
- Experience working on both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
