Are you an experienced CNC Setter/Operator looking to join a well-established precision engineering company with a strong reputation for quality and innovation? This is an excellent opportunity to work within a clean, modern workshop environment as part of a friendly and skilled production team.


About the Role

You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components in line with detailed technical drawings and quality standards. You'll be working with a range of CNC machinery - using Mazatrol and Heidenhain controls.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to setup sheets and procedures.
  • Operate CNC milling machines efficiently and safely to achieve production targets.
  • Carry out in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
  • Obtain First-Off Inspection approval before full production runs.
  • Monitor production for tool wear, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate records of operation times and production data.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and keep work areas clean and organized.


About You

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a precision engineering or subcontract machining environment.
  • Confident using Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in using inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Team player with good communication skills.


Desirable

  • Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or CNC Machining.
  • Experience working on both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
