About The RoleRegulatory Support Officer (Environmental Health)CirencesterHours: 37 per weekSalary: £26,939 – £28,072 per annumContract type: 12 Months, fixed term contract Maternity CoverWe’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Regulatory Support Officer to join our Environmental Protection team in Cirencester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working both in the office and out in the field, supporting the delivery of key environmental health services that make a real difference to our communities.About the RoleIn this role, you’ll support Officers and Senior staff across a wide variety of environmental protection activities, including:

Assisting with HMO and caravan site licence applications and inspections
Supporting investigations into nuisance, pest control and enviro-crimes
Conducting Private Water Supply sampling and maintaining related records
Carrying out air quality monitoring (monthly diffusion tube replacement)
Setting up and collecting noise monitoring equipment
Supporting Officers with public health burials and other statutory duties

No two days are the same – you could be reviewing information, liaising with residents, or out on site inspections helping to keep West Oxfordshire a safe, healthy, and sustainable place to live.You will need….

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) including Maths and English (or equivalent)
Strong communication and customer service skills – able to remain calm and confident in challenging situations
Ability to manage time effectively and maintain accurate records
Confidence with IT systems, including Microsoft and Google packages

It’s an advantage (but not essential) if you have:

Experience working in environmental health or within a public sector setting
Knowledge of environmental protection services
Experience with Uniform Idox software
