HSE and Quality Manager - Clacton-on-Sea | Up to 42,000 | 25 days holiday + bank holidays

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced HS&E and Quality Manager to join a well-established and respected manufacturer based in Clacton-on-Sea. Specialising in high-volume precision engineered components for the construction and hardware sectors, this business prides itself on quality, innovation, and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

The Role:

As the HSE and Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards and leading all Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives across the business. Reporting directly to the Works Director, you will work closely with operational teams to embed a strong culture of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025
  • Oversee internal and external audits, quality manuals, and document control
  • Manage laboratory UKAS accreditation and ensure all standards are met
  • Promote a safe working environment through site inspections, risk assessments, and training
  • Keep up to date with legislation and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures
  • Lead and support the quality and HS&E teams including performance and development

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar HSE and Quality Manager role
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and current Health and Safety regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct audits, manage compliance, and deliver training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on and collaborative approach
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
