Tooling Design Engineer

We are representing our client in Somerset and due to expansion, we are now seeking a Tooling Design Engineer join them. The purpose of the role is to design and develop 2D and 3D tooling. 

You’ll create new tooling, improve existing designs, support prototypes, and work closely with production teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Design punch tools, crimping systems, and prototypes
• Produce accurate 2D/3D designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Monitor tooling assembly and ensure quality standards
• Maintain documentation and tooling databases
• Support production with process improvements and problem-solving
• Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing standards

What's on offer:

• Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00
• £30,000 - £37,000
• Permanent Position

Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Able to read technical drawings and tolerances
• HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent organisational, teamwork, and communication skills
