CNC Router Operator

Location: Clevedon, BS21 6ST

Salary: £12.60 per hour + shift premiums (10% standby / 20% rotating shift)

Hours: Rotating shift / 38.5Hrs per week (Monday–Thursday: 06:00 – 14:00, Friday: 06:00 – 12:30

Our clients are on the lookout for a reliable CNC Router Operator to join their production team working primarily with foam (and some timber) using their four, 3 axis CNC machines.

This is a hands-on role focused on running machines efficiently and safely — ideal for someone with CNC experience, even at an entry-level.

The Role

This is more of an Operator role than a Programmer role — you won’t be writing new code, but basic experience using CNC routers is beneficial.

From time to time, you may make minor modifications to programmes, so a bit of confidence around tooling and machine operation is important.

You’ll need a practical approach — knowing when something’s going wrong rather than letting the job continue. You may also be required to assist with fabricating or finishing foam while the machine is running, helping improve efficiency across the line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate 3 axis CNC routers – mainly machining foam
  • Load materials and monitor ongoing jobs
  • Setting of new and existing tooling
  • Spot and stop machining issues before they waste time or materials
  • Read and work from technical drawings and understand measurements
  • Assist in minor programme adjustments as needed
  • Understand tooling wear or breakages
  • Help with fabrication or foam finishing where applicable
