Shape the Future of Clean Energy - Drive Risk Insight on a Nationally Significant Programme

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for risk analysis in complex project environments? A ground-breaking clean energy programme is seeking a Risk Analyst to join its central Programme Management Office (PMO). This is a rare opportunity to be part of a major UK initiative focused on demonstrating the commercial feasibility of nuclear fusion energy - one of the most exciting frontiers in the energy sector.

As a Risk Analyst, you'll support the development and implementation of risk management practices across a vast and technically complex portfolio. You'll play a key role in providing data-driven insights that improve decision-making and help steer the programme to successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the consistent application of risk management processes across programme workstreams
* Facilitate risk identification and assessment sessions with technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Maintain high-quality risk registers at both project and programme levels
* Track and follow up on mitigation actions, ensuring timely updates from risk owners
* Produce clear, insightful risk reports, dashboards, and heatmaps for governance and delivery teams
* Work alongside planning, engineering, and controls teams to ensure risk is fully integrated with scheduling and milestones
* Contribute to continuous improvement within the PMO, including enhancements to tools, templates, and training
* Ensure adherence to industry standards such as ISO 31000 and Government Project Delivery Frameworks

What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience working in a project or programme environment with exposure to risk or project controls
* Solid understanding of risk management processes and qualitative/quantitative analysis techniques
* Familiarity with risk management tools (e.g., Active Risk Manager (ARM), Predict!, or similar platforms)
* Strong attention to detail, with a methodical and analytical approach
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other common business tools

Desirable:
* Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, engineering, or regulated programmes
* Awareness of structured risk frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, APM Risk)
* Experience preparing risk dashboards and data visualisations for senior stakeholders
* A relevant qualification or certification in risk analysis, risk management, or project controls

Please note that applicants must live in the UK and have the right to work in the UK. We cannot provide VISA sponsorship.
