4 on 4 off (Days & Nights, 12-hour shifts) // 5 on 5 off 4 on 4 off 4 on 5 off (Days & Nights, 12 hour shifts) – 10% Pension + Overtime (1.5x, Double on Sundays) + 23 Shifts Holiday

About the client
ATA are working with one of the UK’s largest heavy manufacturing groups, employing over 2,100 people across 36 sites and turning over £450m annually. This particular site is the second newest in the group, state-of-the-art, and already delivering over 20% of the group’s profit. With major investment, strong retention, and guaranteed long-term security (the associated quarry has 80 years of material), this is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a forward-thinking, modern facility that values its engineering teams.

What you’ll be doing
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliability and performance across a large-scale heavy industrial plant. The role offers a mix of reactive and planned work, with exposure to a wide variety of equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working across hoppers, mixers, kilns, silos, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and large-scale slicing/mixing equipment.
  • Mechanical maintenance including bearing changes, gearbox replacements, pulleys, belts, welding, and fabrication.
  • Following PPMs through a tablet-based system, ensuring equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
  • Tackling breakdowns (approx. 70%) with a methodical approach and delivering PPM tasks (approx. 30%).
  • Supporting installation of new plant and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensuring compliance with site safety and contributing to continuous improvement.

  • A recognised NVQ Level 3 Qualification.
  • Strong mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication/welding.
