Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the preparation of the Local Plan and other planning documents.

  • Present evidence at the Local Plan Examination.

  • Collaborate with other Leicestershire authorities on the Strategic Growth Plan.

  • Report to the Local Plan Committee on planning documents.

  • Manage resources and budgets for planning and land charges services.

  • Oversee consultants for Local Plan preparation.

  • Advise members on planning documents.

  • Monitor S106 agreements and manage contributions.

  • Ensure excellent customer service and team development.

  • Drive performance and maintain financial controls.

  • Ensure health and safety standards are met.

  • Promote equality and diversity in services and employment.

Person Specifications
Must Have

  • Experience in engaging with members and community consultation.

  • Knowledge and experience in preparing development plans and planning documents.

  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills.

Nice to Have

  • RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) registration.

  • Valid driving license.
