Senior or Principal Engineer (Core Shoring Team)

Location: Coatbridge, Scotland

Salary: Up to 50,000

About the Role:

Are you ready to take on an exciting role with a leading company in the construction sector? Our client operates a fleet of rental equipment, largely comprising of structural support products, designed and arranged into configurations to provide temporary works solutions for their clients. As our Senior or Principal Engineer, you will be in a senior role within the core shoring team, providing and checking high quality designs. The core shoring team provides temporary works designs and technical support for the UK and Ireland.

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience with design of temporary works in accordance with relevant standards.

Skills: Competence in both structural and geotechnical design. Ability to produce high-quality design solutions, manage workloads, and provide technical support. Strong communication skills internally and externally, punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.

Qualifications: IEng desirable but not essential (dependent on seniority), Full Driving License, proficiency in Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD, Design software (Wallap, CADs), MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workload and take a leading role in the day-to-day operation of the engineering teams.
  • Produce high-quality design solutions in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all current regulations and best practices.
  • Design highly complex schemes (Cat3) and check moderately complex schemes (Cat2).
  • Provide supervision, training, and mentoring to Graduate and Design Engineers.
  • Act as a key point of contact and provide technical support for our sales team and clients.
  • Drive forward continuous improvements using your own ideas to enhance quality, accuracy, and ease of design production.
  • Organise your own time and others well, contributing to the technical team in a collaborative way.

Travel Requirements:

Predominantly office-based with occasional site meetings to assess progress and meet client representatives. Based out of Coatbridge.
