Junior Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer
Hybrid role with 2 days working from home
Salary from 35-45,000 depending on experience
We're building a brand-new embedded team for our global manufacturing client in Central Scotland and we're looking for a Junior Engineer to help shape the future of their new product line. You'll have the opportunity to see it all come to life on-site - from design and development through to testing and full-scale manufacturing. Their on-site testing lab and production lines mean you'll see your firmware power a real, physical product from concept to final build.
If you've got at least a year's experience working with embedded firmware or systems in a hands-on role, and you're keen to learn from strong senior engineers while working on real products, this could be a great fit.
What you'll be doing:
- Writing and debugging C code for embedded systems
- Testing and validating firmware on real hardware
- Supporting hardware bring-up and troubleshooting
- Working with electronics engineers, testers, and software developers
- Contributing to Agile product development projects
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics, or similar
- 1 year or more of industry experience in embedded systems or firmware
- Comfortable using lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters etc.)
- Experience with version control (Git or similar)
Nice to have:
- Python for testing or automation
- Basic understanding of WiFi, BLE, or other comms protocols
- Exposure to RTOS or Linux-based systems
This is not a graduate role. We're looking for someone with real-world experience who wants to build a long-term career in embedded systems.
