Accounts Assistant - Full-Time - Cobham, Surrey - £30,000 FTE

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team based in Cobham, Surrey. This is a full-time, office-based role that offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and professional environment.

About the Role: Accounts Assistant

You will be responsible for supporting both the purchasing and accounts functions of the business. From liaising with suppliers and managing purchase orders to reconciling financial transactions and assisting with proposals and cost tracking, this is a role that will keep you engaged and challenged. You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth running of procurement and finance operations.

What You Will Be Doing: Accounts Assistant

  • Assisting with the procurement of goods and services, placing orders accurately and promptly

  • Managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing where appropriate

  • Creating and tracking purchase orders, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate invoicing

  • Maintaining supplier records and inventory documentation

  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable processes

  • Reconciling vendor statements and handling financial documentation

  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Overseeing petty cash, ordering office supplies, and arranging office facilities as required

  • Providing administrative support and collaborating with other departments

What We Are Looking For: Accounts Assistant

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an accounts assistant or similar role

  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and basic accounting principles

  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail and time management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Experience with Sage or Xero is an advantage

  • A team player with a positive, problem-solving attitude

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
