Head of Marketing and Communications
Location: SurreySalary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)Contract: Full-time, PermanentHours: 35 hours per week
This is a new role as they are expanding the Marketing and Communications Department. The post holder will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will have line management of five people, some of whom are new to the team , so ideally, our client would ideally like someone with line management experience.

This pivotal role involves delivering a forward-thinking, creative, and data-informed marketing and communications programme that enhances brand visibility, drives customer engagement and loyalty, and strengthens stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
- Lead brand development and ensure consistency across all channels and materials.
- Use data insights and market research to shape campaigns and inform decision-making.
- Act as the organisation’s brand ambassador, promoting key initiatives and achievements.
Marketing and Communications Delivery:
- Oversee internal and external communications with professionalism, clarity, and strategic intent.
- Manage the organisation’s digital presence including website, SEO, and social media.
- Create compelling content for print and digital platforms including newsletters, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts and other stakeholders.
- Monitor campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies to maximise results.
Event Management:
- Plan and deliver corporate and promotional events, ensuring they are well-branded and professionally executed.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Team Management:
- Lead and develop a talented marketing team, setting clear objectives aligned with organisational goals.
- Provide coaching, performance reviews, and ongoing support to enable team success.
Budget & Reporting:
- Manage the marketing budget and ensure effective resource allocation.
- Prepare performance reports and strategic recommendations for senior leaders.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven track record in a senior marketing or communications role.
- Experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans.
- Exceptional copywriting and creative skills across both print and digital formats.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms.
- High emotional intelligence with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative, proactive, and calm under pressure.
Additional Information
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
- Some flexibility is required to support events and campaigns outside of standard hours.
- Annual leave of 28 days plus bank holidays = total 36 days with Bank Holidays
