We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide essential support to secondary aged students with ASD in a school setting in Leatherhead. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners and thrives in a collaborative educational environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist ASD students in accessing the curriculum, both in a classroom setting and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Support the teacher in fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Encourage students’ independence and social integration.
  • Aid in the development of students’ academic and life skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or young adults, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
  • Be able to work 5 full days a week.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
