Prime Appointments is partnering with a growing consultancy seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team. The company works closely with housing providers and property owners, delivering detailed inspections, safety reports, and structural assessments aligned with the latest building safety regulations.

This is a hands-on position that combines site inspections with technical reporting. You'll be out on-site identifying defects, collaborating with Fire Engineers and Building Safety Consultants to prepare Building Safety Case reports and fire strategies. The role also involves supporting and mentoring junior team members to ensure projects progress smoothly.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting thorough property surveys and site inspections

  • Identifying and diagnosing structural issues such as cracks and water ingress

  • Writing detailed condition surveys, risk assessments, and safety reports

  • Supporting the development of Building Safety Cases and fire strategies

  • Advising clients on maintenance plans and compliance requirements

  • Mentoring junior colleagues on site and promoting best practices

  • Staying up to date with current legislation and industry standards

What we're looking for:

  • Background in building surveying or structural engineering

  • Strong ability to identify and explain building defects clearly

  • Experience with risk assessments and safety-focused reporting

  • Knowledge of structural modelling and load path analysis

  • HNC, degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline

  • Experience with Building Safety Case reports is a plus, but not essential

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a blend of practical site work and detailed technical reporting and wants to contribute to important safety-led projects. The company offers flexible working arrangements and strong support for professional development.
