Business Development Manager

Location: Sudbury, Suffolk

Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our client seeking a Business Development Manager on a full time, permanent basis. You will target new business opportunities and manage digital sales strategies to support and supplement the External Sales Team.

This role is ideal for a dynamic professional with a strong background in sales and customer service, capable of driving growth and managing multiple sales channels effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Target new business across all products, supporting the External Sales Team.
  • Develop promotional strategies alongside the sales director to create sales opportunities and manage stock levels.
  • Manage online pricing, promotions, and sales across various product categories including appliances, and outdoor living products.
  • Identify and exploit cross-selling opportunities and open at least 20 new accounts per year.
  • Launch new products and drive new business through innovation and digital channels.
  • Set up quarterly promotions focusing on volume and high-value deals.
  • Convert delegates into buying customers by managing product offers.
  • Maintain and update sales records and CRM information accurately.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales and customer service
  • Strong understanding of customers and their requirements/issues.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and apply technical concepts.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to self-analyse, review, and improve performance.
  • Excellent presentation skills and competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Commercial acumen and good numerical skills.
  • Experience in managing a sales process from prospect to confirmation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams such as customer service, technical support, and marketing.
