Customer Order Management Specialist

Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our client seeking a Customer Order Management Specialist to oversee multiple customer accounts, enhancing customer relationships and driving sales through exceptional service. This role is crucial for managing the end-to-end order process, from entry to delivery, ensuring a seamless experience for our customers.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Serve as the primary contact for designated customers, managing all order-related communications and exceeding customer expectations in responsiveness
  • Oversee the entire order management process, coordinating across departments to eliminate delays and minimize inventory
  • Prepare accurate quotations for the distribution network and key accounts, ensuring timely delivery using various software tools
  • Confirm and acknowledge customer orders within set KPIs and timescales, maintaining transparency about any delays
  • Ensure precise data entry into the MRP system, adhering to established processes and price verification
  • Provide all necessary customer documentation, such as order acknowledgments, drawings, and certificates, efficiently and on time.
  • Address and progress expedite requests by collaborating cross-functionally with Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations teams to meet customer expectations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver world-class customer experiences and a commitment to going the extra mile.
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems, along with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of effectively implementing solutions.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and administrative tasks, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding customer handling skills and a history of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, able to manage a busy workload in a high-pressure environment.
  • Technical understanding of products to assist in accurate and timely order processing
  • Strong mathematical skills for validating orders and assisting partners with their enquiries
  • Confident and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively at all levels.
