The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Fitness Engineer to join our expanding team. Based in and around London or Essex, this is a field-based role covering the South East. You’ll carry out inspections, servicing, repairs, and installations of commercial fitness equipment across a diverse client base.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road, working independently, and taking pride in delivering high-quality, customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine Servicing & InspectionsCarry out scheduled inspections and maintenance of gym and fitness equipment across schools, universities, leisure centres, and commercial facilities. Ensure all work is completed to safety and compliance standards.
  • Diagnosis & RepairsIdentify faults and carry out mechanical and basic electrical repairs. Work on a wide range of equipment including treadmills, rowers, resistance machines, and exercise bikes from leading brands such as Technogym, Origin, Matrix, Life Fitness, Pulse, and Concept.
  • Equipment InstallationsDeliver, assemble, and install fitness equipment at client sites. Ensure all equipment is correctly positioned, tested, levelled, and fully operational before handover.
  • Client CommunicationCommunicate clearly and professionally with site contacts. Explain inspection outcomes, repairs carried out, and any further recommendations. Always represent us with a positive and professional approach.
  • Tablet-Based ReportingUse a company-issued tablet to complete digital reports, log parts used, take photos, and submit job outcomes in line with company procedures.
  • Vehicle & Stock ManagementKeep your company van clean, roadworthy, and fully stocked. Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure commonly used parts and tools are available for efficient service delivery.
  • Health & Safety ComplianceAlways follow Health & Safety policies, including the use of PPE and on-site risk assessments. Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Team CollaborationWork independently while maintaining communication with your team, supervisor, and head office. Attend briefings and training when required, and support colleagues when needed.
  • Additional DutiesAssist with occasional warehouse or HQ-based tasks. Be willing to travel further afield or stay away overnight (Monday–Friday) when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience servicing and repairing commercial gym or fitness equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge (qualifications a plus)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable using tablets and mobile apps for reporting
  • Physically fit – able to lift and handle heavy equipment safely
  • A confident communicator with a professional, customer-focused attitude
  • Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check (organised by us)
  • Willing to travel throughout the South East and stay away on occasion
