TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-established nursery setting in Colchester, who are currently looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Nursery Practitioner to join their team on a permanent basis.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children aged 0–5 years in their learning, development, and overall well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where all children feel secure and valued

• Planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

• Monitoring and recording children's progress through observations and assessments

• Building strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues

• Supporting children with personal care routines (feeding, changing, toileting) as required

• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being

• Ensuring all safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed consistently

• Collaborating with the wider nursery team to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)

• Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting

• A good working knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding policies

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

• A warm, caring, and patient nature

• Commitment to promoting high standards of care and education

• A proactive attitude and willingness to continue professional development
