All Square Recruitment are partnering with a leading Global Manufacturing Group based in Colchester, Essex.

We are seeking a proactive Production Planner to join their fast-paced manufacturing site. This role is essential for coordinating production schedules, improving efficiency, and ensuring on-time delivery across a complex product range. You’ll use your strong planning background and expert knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (or D365 F&O) to optimise production performance and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Master Production Scheduling - Develop, manage, and update the master production schedule for multiple component and assembly lines. Align production plans with customer demand, sales forecasts, and inventory targets to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Capacity Planning and Analysis - Monitor and analyse plant and labour capacity across all work centres. Identify issues early and take proactive action to prevent bottlenecks, balance workloads, and maintain steady production flow.
  • ERP System Management (Microsoft Dynamics AX) - Act as the key user for production planning within Microsoft Dynamics AX. Maintain data accuracy, execute MRP runs, manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensure all system information is kept current.
  • Supply Chain Coordination - Work closely with Procurement and Logistics to guarantee that raw materials and components are delivered on time. Communicate effectively to minimise delays, avoid shortages, and control inventory levels.
  • Process Improvement and Efficiency - Lead ongoing improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and boost On-Time Delivery (OTD). Collaborate across teams to streamline processes and strengthen overall operational performance.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Production Planner or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 F&O, with strong knowledge of scheduling, MRP, and capacity planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid grasp of production planning and inventory control.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate activities across Operations, Engineering, and Sales.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities.
