Senior Estimator

The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Construction Estimator to join this reputable main contractor based in Colchester. The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-construction team, leading the pricing and tendering of a wide variety of projects across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, and residential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the preparation of tenders and cost estimates for both negotiated and competitive bids.

• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and competitive costings.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to ensure clarity and precision in bids.

• Identify value engineering opportunities and contribute to the development of winning strategies.

• Work closely with the pre-construction and project delivery teams to ensure smooth project handovers.

• Mentor junior estimators and support their professional development.

The Candidate:

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contracting environment.

• Strong technical understanding of construction processes and materials.

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and commercial acumen.

• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.

• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
