Site Engineer (Freelance)

First Task Professional are currently working alongside an established contractor with an excellent reputation in the power and renewables sector.

They are actively seeking two freelance engineers for power projects in the Scottish Borders.

We are looking for skilled engineers with a background in civils works to lend their expertise on projects in the power sector. If you have hands-on experience in civil works, site management, and a proven track record in power-related projects, then please give us a call.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily activities on-site to ensure the project progresses according to drawings and specifications.
• Provide technical support to the wider site team.
• Undertake regular site inspections and monitor works for and quality standards.
• Assist with the preparation of site reports, including progress updates
• Liaise with subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and resolution of any issues.
• Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are adhered to.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in civil engineering, with a focus on power projects (substations, renewable energy infrastructure, etc.).
• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer
• Knowledge of civil engineering practices and design
• Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
