Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Coleford
Salary: £53,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday (8am–4pm), 1 in 5 Callout

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for improving reliability and performance?

We are recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a major manufacturing operation in Coleford. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a high-performing electrical maintenance function and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing site engineering performance.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of electrical equipment, including three-phase motors and process automation systems, while working on SCADA and DCS systems and performing PLC fault finding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned preventative, remedial, and reactive maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and process control equipment.
  • Apply effective fault-finding and investigation techniques to resolve issues quickly, ensuring optimal machine utilisation and minimal downtime.
  • Implement upgrades and modifications to electrical and process control systems to enhance performance and functionality.
  • Diagnose plant-related process and engineering issues, working alongside shift personnel to resolve complex challenges.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve productivity and efficiency, recommending capital expenditure where beneficial.
  • Maintain accurate work history in the CMMS system and identify any required follow-up actions.

About You

  • Electrically apprenticeship trained (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3).
  • Experience with PLC fault finding and three-phase motors.
  • Experience working with SCADA and DCS systems.
  • Background in a process automation environment.
  • Good knowledge of SAP maintenance systems.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Resilient, proactive, and solutions-oriented with excellent decision-making skills.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and team development abilities.

Package Details

  • £53,000 per annum
  • Pension: 5% employer / 5% employee contribution
