Job Opportunity: Supplies Operative - North Wales Police (via Adecco)

Adecco are recruiting for a Supplies Operative to join North Wales Police. This role is based at Colwyn Bay and offers a great opportunity to provide support within the Supplies team.

Contract Details:

  • Type: Temporary (until March 2026)

  • Pay: 13.53 per hour (PAYE) / XX per hour (Umbrella)

  • Location: Colwyn Bay

  • Working Arrangements: Fully office based

  • Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administer the Stores IT systems.

  • Assist the Supplies Manager with clerical duties including raising purchase orders, progressing orders, sourcing equipment/services, and dealing with routine and non-routine enquiries.

  • Perform stock checks, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues.

  • Collate and produce reports and information from systems as required.

  • Support the smooth running of the section in the absence of the Supplies Manager.

  • Supply and fit uniform to staff.

  • Liaise with the Supplies Manager regarding routine orders.

  • Respond to new initiatives relating to technology, Health and Safety.

  • Advise customers on services and goods supplied and resolve complaints.

  • Monitor and amend stock levels as necessary.

  • Assist with organising stock movement, receipts, issues, and stores area maintenance.

  • Arrange destruction or disposal of returned/unusable stock.

  • Organise collection and return of goods to suppliers.

  • Ensure good housekeeping standards and safe systems of work are maintained.

  • Input accurate data into systems.

  • Train new staff in system use.

  • Greet and assist visitors, customers, and drivers while maintaining security and integrity of the supplies section.

  • Check documentation and stock availability against requisitions/picking lists and issue goods accordingly.

  • Prepare, pack, and dispatch goods as required, completing documentation and updating systems.

  • Undertake general stores maintenance including stock relocation and safe working practices.

  • Monitor shortages/surpluses and escalate or place orders as appropriate.

  • Work in line with procedural manuals and guidelines.

Skills Required:

  • Basic IT and keyboard skills with knowledge of processing orders.

  • Physically fit to handle lifting and moving equipment, including heavy items.

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, telephone, and written) with colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
