Groomfield Recruitment are supporting one of our long-standing clients in the search for a Refrigeration / Mechanical Assembly Engineer. This role offers a stable, hands-on position within an engineering environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical build, assembly and testing work.
Location: Tamworth (B79)
Salary: 17.00 per hour (higher rates considered depending on experience)
Hours: 07:45 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 12:00 Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of refrigeration and cooling equipment
- Pressure testing and charging of refrigeration systems
- Electrical wiring of control panels (training can be provided)
- Cladding, final assembly and preparation of completed units
- Testing, inspection and quality checking of finished equipment
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience working with refrigeration or cooling systems (single and/or double stage)
- Mechanical fitting or general assembly experience
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Brazing, soldering and copper pipe bending skills
- Ability to follow engineering drawings and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- F-Gas qualification preferred (training can be provided)
