Groomfield Recruitment are supporting one of our long-standing clients in the search for a Refrigeration / Mechanical Assembly Engineer. This role offers a stable, hands-on position within an engineering environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical build, assembly and testing work.

Location: Tamworth (B79)

Salary: 17.00 per hour (higher rates considered depending on experience)

Hours: 07:45 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 12:00 Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical fitting and assembly of refrigeration and cooling equipment
  • Pressure testing and charging of refrigeration systems
  • Electrical wiring of control panels (training can be provided)
  • Cladding, final assembly and preparation of completed units
  • Testing, inspection and quality checking of finished equipment

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience working with refrigeration or cooling systems (single and/or double stage)
  • Mechanical fitting or general assembly experience
  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Brazing, soldering and copper pipe bending skills
  • Ability to follow engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • F-Gas qualification preferred (training can be provided)
