CNC Maintenance Technician - Congleton

On behalf of our client, a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation, we are seeking a skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to join their team in Congleton. Reporting to the Value Stream Leader, this role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment within a dedicated production cell. The role plays a key part in ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, run and monitor semi-automated and fully automated plant and machinery in a manufacturing cell.

- Diagnose equipment faults and perform corrective actions to minimise downtime.

- Record all stoppages and breakdowns using correct reason codes within the Smart Factory system.

- Carry out maintenance activities alongside the maintenance team in line with planned maintenance schedules.

- Control manufacturing processes to support high-volume production requirements.

- Identify, address, and resolve manufacturing and quality issues through effective problem-solving.

- Provide support to material handlers to ensure smooth running of the manufacturing cell.

- Maintain safe working practices, escalating any safety concerns within the production area.

- Assist in the suggestion, development, and implementation of continuous improvement activities.

 

Skills & Experience

- Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment in a production environment.

- Strong technical problem-solving skills and fault-finding ability.

- Understanding of lean principles, continuous improvement, and quality processes.

- Ability to work safely, efficiently and to production targets.

- Experience logging production data into manufacturing systems desirable.

 

Qualifications

Essential

- Recognised engineering, technical apprenticeship or equivalent experience.

Desirable

- Experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.

- Experience working within ISO9001 / AS9100 compliant systems.

- Early (06:00 - 14:30) and Late (14:00 - 21:30) fortnightly rotating shift. (Time + ¼ on late Shift)

- Transitoning onto a 3 shift pattern including nights (22:00 - 6:30) - Time + 1/3
