Mechanical Technician
Location: Conwy, North Wales
Salary - £27,000 - £32,000
The Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our Manufacturing Department. You will be responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and fault-finding a wide range of mechanical and electro-mechanical products to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build, assemble, and fit mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and build manuals.
  • Conduct mechanical testing, pressure testing, and functional checks to verify assembly integrity.
  • Competent in the use of precision measuring tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers) to inspect components.
  • Perform fault-finding and undertake repairs on mechanical assemblies and associated equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to meet production schedules.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing department.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, machining, or a similar production environment.
  • Applications from recent engineering graduates are also welcomed.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to learn new software.
  • Diligent, self-motivated, and well-organised with strong record-keeping skills.
Desired Requirements and Experience
  • Basic knowledge of electronic principles and wiring (advantageous).
  • Experience in machining.
  • Ability to identify and repair faults.
  • Work in a focused manner and stay on task.
  • Work to the companies quality systems and Health & Safety policy.
  • Assist in the development of new production methods to improve current product lines or support new products.
  • Proactively follow health & safety procedures as set out by the company.
 
Hours of work Monday to Friday.
