Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) – Belfast

£50,000 - £60,000

We have been appointed to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor (MEP) for our thriving & hugely reputable client in Belfast.

We seek to recruit an MEP Quantity Surveyor to work within their Major Projects department – project £5m+.  Dependent on your skills and experience, there may be other progressive career opportunities available within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the supply chain and subcontractors, forming order packages and ensuring the best commercially available positions are achieved
  • Compile subcontract orders for approval
  • Keen eye for detail and managing change control in accordance with the contract
  • Carry out on-site measurements of works and agreeing with relevant parties
  • Co-ordinate work effort to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered
  • Measure and value completed work and variations in work during contracts, for agreement of interim payments and the final account
  • Liaise with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of each project
  • Carry out reconciliation of cost and value on monthly basis to keep the management team informed of project performance
  • Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required
  • Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions

About you:

  • 5 years + post graduate experience in a QS role within the Construction Industry
  • Experience in NEC form of contract and other standard forms of contract
  • Highly motivated hard-working with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Applicants must have a clean driving license
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Organised and disciplined in your planning and approach to work
