Manual Machinist - Corby
Type: Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Hours: Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:00, Friday 08:00-14:30 (can work 35 - 40 hours if required)
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: 16.00 - 20.00 per hour (DOE)

Our client is a well-established engineering firm with over 40 years of industry experience and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, bespoke products. They are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join their busy workshop team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a range of manual machinery including milling machines, pillar drills, lathes, turret machines, mills, and grinders
- Strip down and rebuild machinery efficiently
- Modify machinery based on engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure product quality
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet customer requirements
- Perform MIG & TIG welding as needed
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a mechanical workshop environment
- Experience of milling turning and boreing
- Strong mechanical aptitude with machining and tooling expertise
- Proficient in using vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Background in manual machining or toolroom machining
- Team-oriented with a focus on quality
- MIG & TIG welding experience (no formal qualification required)
