Commercial Procurement Officer - EC WSS Programme
Location: Defence Digital, MOD Corsham (3 days on-site per week, 2 days remote)Contract Period: 1st May 2025 - 30th September 2025 (Extension highly likely)Rate: Commercial Manager 4 (M4)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Procurement Professional to support the delivery of the Wideband Satellite System (WSS) - the UK Ministry of Defence's highest value space asset. This role is part of a major CAT A procurement programme, involving the acquisition of three satellite systems that are critical to the UK Armed Forces and allied strategic communications.
As a member of the EC WSS procurement team, you will contribute across multiple stages of the procurement process, including Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) execution, contract award preparation, and early-stage contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
CQ & ITN Evaluation Support* Respond to bidder clarification questions during the ITN process* Act as an evaluator of ITN responses* Support preferred bidder selection activities
Contract Award Preparation* Lead updates to the draft contract post-preferred bidder identification to ensure readiness for signature
Contract Management* Assist in the management of the WSS Contractor post-award* Lead on change control processes* Support performance monitoring and reporting activities
Essential Skills and Experience:* Demonstrable experience in delivering complex public sector procurements, ideally within defence* Strong working knowledge of Public Contract Regulations 2015 (PCR 2015)* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills* Highly organised with strong attention to detail* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Experience:* Familiarity with Target Cost Incentive Fee (TCIF) contract types* Prior experience in space-related procurement
Personal Attributes:* Detail-oriented with strong documentation and accuracy skills* Collaborative, adaptable, and capable of working with cross-functional teams* Proactive self-starter who can take initiative and manage tasks independently
