Reed Procurement are working in partnership with a well established & market leading manufacturing business located in Deeside, who are now looking to recruit a Buyer to join their strong & growing procurement team. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Adhere to and improve procurement processes to ensure best-in-class practices
  • Manage the purchasing of both direct and indirect materials
  • Lead supplier sourcing, negotiations, and the implementation of long-term agreements
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimise cost, quality, service, and delivery performance
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations to ensure consistent quality, cost control, and timely delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with company-wide goals
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production without overstocking
  • Tackle complex procurement challenges related to new products, suppliers, or technologies
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure and improve supplier performance
  • Proactively identify and escalate supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Manage a portfolio of established supplier accounts with full accountability
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and industry regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and procurement documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver cost-effective, high-quality, and timely procurement solutions
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in supplier management and market analysis
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Solid background in operational procurement, ideally within a manufacturing setting
  • High standards of professional conduct and ethical procurement practices
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
