Reed Procurement are working in partnership with a well established & market leading manufacturing business located in Deeside, who are now looking to recruit a Buyer to join their strong & growing procurement team.
Day-to-day of the role:- Adhere to and improve procurement processes to ensure best-in-class practices
- Manage the purchasing of both direct and indirect materials
- Lead supplier sourcing, negotiations, and the implementation of long-term agreements
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimise cost, quality, service, and delivery performance
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations to ensure consistent quality, cost control, and timely delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with company-wide goals
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production without overstocking
- Tackle complex procurement challenges related to new products, suppliers, or technologies
- Establish and track KPIs to measure and improve supplier performance
- Proactively identify and escalate supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Manage a portfolio of established supplier accounts with full accountability
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and industry regulations
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and procurement documentation
- Demonstrated ability to deliver cost-effective, high-quality, and timely procurement solutions
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in supplier management and market analysis
- Detail-oriented and process-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Solid background in operational procurement, ideally within a manufacturing setting
- High standards of professional conduct and ethical procurement practices
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
