Reed Procurement are working in partnership with a well established & market leading manufacturing business located in Deeside, who are now looking to recruit a Senior Buyer position. This role is designed to take the lead in managing both direct and indirect procurement processes within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned procurement professional who is ready to drive cost efficiency, ensure timely delivery, and maintain the highest quality standards across our supply chain.
Day-to-day of the role:- Design and refine procurement processes to align with best practices and business goals
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure optimal pricing and mitigate cost increases
- Oversee supplier assessments and ensure compliance with contractual terms
- Collaborate with departments such as Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing to align purchasing with operational needs
- Manage inventory levels to support production without overstocking
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and reliability
- Monitor and report on supplier KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Take full responsibility for sourcing quality products and services that meet business requirements
- Proven track record in delivering cost-effective, reliable procurement solutions
- Strong background in operational procurement within a manufacturing environment
- Experience influencing and collaborating with both internal teams and external partners
- Strategic sourcing expertise and the ability to implement long-term procurement strategies
- CIPS qualification and a solid educational foundation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
