Designated Safeguarding Lead – Coundon

Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 per annum
Contract: Full Time (40 hours/week)

 

Leader Group is recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Coundon.

 

Step into an exciting new chapter as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and take a pivotal role in shaping a safe, supportive environment for students. Lead safeguarding, champion student wellbeing, and ensure every child feels protected, empowered, and ready to succeed.

 

About the School

 

This specialist school provides therapeutic education for young people with complex needs, including SEMH and ASD. Catering to students from Year 1 to Year 13, the school focuses on removing barriers to learning, building confidence, and helping every learner reach their full potential.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead safeguarding as the Designated Safeguarding Lead

  • Provide pastoral care and support for students with individual needs

  • Contribute to school improvement and safeguarding strategies

  • Identify, monitor, and report safeguarding trends to senior leaders

  • Build strong relationships with professional services and the wider community

  • Keep accurate records of behaviour incidents

  • Support behaviour management and safeguarding across the school as needed

Requirements

  • Experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a SEND or specialist provision

  • Strong passion for supporting students with SEND/SEMH needs

  • Committed to safeguarding excellence and ensuring all students thrive

  • Understanding of the responsibilities and duties of a Designated Safeguarding Lead
