Alexander Daniels are pleased to be working with a family run business in recruiting for a finance systems accountant. They are looking for a proactive and skilled System Accountant to join our team at our recently renovated offices close to Coventry. You will support recent developments and enhance operational efficiency, a significant upgrade of the financial systems is also planned. This role is central to both the successful implementation of these systems and to strengthening the organisation's overall financial management. (Please note tha6 ithis is an office based role)
Key Responsibilities
System Upgrade and Implementation

Lead the transition from the current financial platform (Sage 50) to a new, more advanced system.

Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure the new system aligns with operational needs.

Oversee the entire system migration, including data transfer, testing, and deployment.

Deliver training and support to ensure smooth adoption by key users.
Process Improvement

Analyse existing financial systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies.

Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.

Collaborate across departments to optimise the use of systems such as Guestline, Epos Now, and S4.

Ensure all financial processes adhere to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Financial Management

Assist the finance team in maintaining accurate and timely financial records.

Produce clear and actionable management reports to support strategic decisions.

Develop automated reporting tools using Power BI or similar platforms.

Monitor internal controls and ensure data consistency across all systems.
Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience in financial system implementation or upgrades, ideally with platforms such as Sage.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, or equivalent data analysis tools.

Understanding of data integration tools such as ODATA and ODBC (preferred).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and support team members across the organisation.
