The Role:
This role involves non-destructive testing (NDT) of aerospace components, with a primary focus on aircraft wheels, and the safe and compliant inspection to meet this companies standard quality. The work includes the detailed inspections of newly manufactured parts before the end process and driving a high standard for Aerospace inspection
Responsibilities of the role:
- Perform NDT inspections on aerospace components, focusing primarily on aircraft wheels, using techniques around dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing methods
- Process parts through various inspection stages, including applying penetrant, washing, developing, and conducting inspections under UV light in dark rooms
- Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment, performing weekly checks to ensure precision and accuracy
- Ensure safety and quality by adhering to strict standards during post-cleaning and verifying that parts are ready for customer delivery.
- Work safely with hazardous chemicals (acids, alkalis, air solutions) while following health and safety regulations and maintaining a safety-conscious attitude in the workplace.
Skills required:
- NDT Level II qualification in Dye Penetrant Inspection
- Experience within aerospace for a similar inspection position
- Experience with health and safety process as well as an understanding of best practice working with chemicals
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to take on responsibility
- Not essential but a big bonus to have NDT Level II qualification in Eddy Current Testing and/or Level II qualified in Magnetic Particle Testing (NAS410)
