Quality Engineer – Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturing
Location: Coventry (working on-site at two supplier locations; Head Office: Leamington Spa)
Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum
Working Hours:

Monday to Wednesday: 07:00 – 16:30

Thursday: 07:00 – 16:30

About the Role

Our client, a leading name in low volume, high-quality vehicle manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on, supplier-facing role working across multiple key supplier sites, supporting critical stages of vehicle production.

You’ll play a vital part in ensuring whole vehicle quality, with a particular focus on the body manufacture, paint, and trim and final assembly stages, helping deliver a complete vehicle to OEM standards. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with strong automotive experience and a confident presence on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage quality activities across multiple supplier locations in Coventry
  • Take ownership of whole vehicle quality, ensuring all components and systems meet OEM standards
  • Oversee quality processes during body Manufacture Paint, Trim and Final build stages
  • Work closely with Tier 1 suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
  • Support internal audits and ensure customer quality expectations are met
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
  • Liaise with stakeholders at all levels, with occasional travel to Head Office in Leamington Spa
  • Ensure compliance with OEM and IATF standards

About You

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role within automotive manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of whole vehicle integration and quality standards
  • Comfortable working on-site at supplier locations and building strong working relationships
  • Background in low volume, high complexity environments preferred
  • Proficient with quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, PPAP, and Root Cause Analysis
