Area Manager (Nurse Qualified) – Elderly Dementia Nursing
Location: Midlands / Surrounding Areas

Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 per annum (DOE)

Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for a highly experienced and motivated Area Manager (Nurse Qualified) to oversee a portfolio of nursing homes specialising in elderly and dementia care.
This is a key senior leadership role for someone with a strong clinical background, proven success in multi-site management, and a deep understanding of compliance, quality, and operational excellence within the care home sector.

The Role:
As Area Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple nursing homes, ensuring outstanding care delivery, strong financial performance, and full regulatory compliance. You will support Home Managers, guide clinical standards, and drive continuous improvement across services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple elderly and dementia nursing homes
  • Support, mentor, and develop Home Managers and their teams
  • Ensure homes are compliant with CQC standards and internal quality frameworks
  • Drive occupancy, manage budgets, and monitor financial performance
  • Champion best practice in dementia and elderly nursing care
  • Act as the point of escalation for complex clinical and operational issues

Requirements:

  • NMC Registered Nurse (PIN essential)
  • Proven experience in multi-site management within the elderly care sector
  • Strong clinical knowledge, particularly in dementia and elderly nursing
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of CQC regulations and compliance
  • A hands-on, visible leader who inspires and motivates
