Job Title: Joiner
Location: Warwick University, Coventry
Contract Type: Temporary (Project-Based)
Salary: £20 - £22 per hour
Reporting To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To carry out high-quality joinery work as part of a construction or refurbishment project at Warwick University. The role involves working on-site to install, repair, and maintain wooden structures and fittings in accordance with project specifications and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install doors, windows, partitions, staircases, and other wooden fixtures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials accurately.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors on-site.
- Ensure all work complies with building regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Requirements:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent.
- Proven experience in site-based joinery work.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Desirable:
- Experience working on university or public sector projects.
- PASMA or IPAF certification.
- First Aid certification.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor and indoor site work across Warwick University campus.
- PPE must be worn at all times.
- May involve working at height or in confined spaces.
