A leading manufacturer and developer of safety critical products supplied to the defence sector, is seeking a Sales Manager focused on identifying and converting new business opportunities from current and brand-new customers. This is a permanent position based onsite and in the field.
Commutable from:Â Coventry, Nuneaton, Warwick, Leicester.
Salary: £ Negotiable + Excellent Benefits including twice yearly bonuses, annual leave with option to purchase additional days, life assurance cover x 3 Salary, 5% employer pension contribution, paid leave for armed forces reservists and paid overtime.
The Role
The Sales Manager will grow and develop a sales pipeline of work within in the defence and security products sector, striving to forge strategic partnerships with customers and nurturing repeat business opportunities.
The Sales Manager will use their commercial acumen and product experience and expertise to foster strong relationships with customers, you will help to identify and grow sales opportunities and support the bid management team to land major contracts.
The Sales Manager will play an integral part in representing the business at events and conferences, ensuring optimum networking opportunities and acting as brand ambassador for the business and its world class range of solutions. You will travel to customer sites, events and conference and maintain an accurate sales forecast and pipeline record as part of the role.
The Person
The successful candidate will possess proven record in selling and wining business in the defence or security products arena and hold a solid appreciation of engineering and manufacturing processes used in the defence products manufacturing industry.
You will enjoy travelling and engaging with customers as part of the role and have previously represented a business as a successful and passionate brand ambassador.
Previous experience within the defence or security industry is essential for the role in addition to a good understanding of the process of selling in the defence sector including requirement capture, RFI/RFQ and supporting bid and commercial content.
