The business has a fun, friendly, and hard-working finance team, and they're on the lookout for someone with strong customer service experience - someone who's confident on the phone, organised, tech-savvy, and ready to learn. You'll be joining as a Trainee Credit Controller, working closely with the Credit Manager and the rest of the team to chase payments, speak with customers, and support the wider finance function.

This role has come up because the last person in the team has just been promoted into the Management Accounts team - a perfect example of the genuine progression opportunities on offer here.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Speaking to customers by phone and email to chase overdue payments and keep the ledger up to date
  • Working with internal teams to help resolve queries that might be holding up payment
  • Updating systems and notes accurately so everything's logged clearly
  • Supporting the Credit Controller and Management Accountant with day-to-day tasks
  • Getting hands-on experience with credit control and learning as you go
  • Playing a key role in keeping things moving - this team are small but close-knit, so your input will matter from day one

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Someone with customer service experience - retail, call centres, hospitality, anything where you've been on the phone or dealing with people directly
  • A confident communicator - especially over the phone
  • Someone who's organised, efficient, and good at following through on tasks
  • Comfortable using a computer and systems - IT literate and quick to pick things up
  • A team player who enjoys being part of a sociable, supportive environment
  • Most importantly - someone with the right attitude who wants to learn, grow and build a career in finance
