Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE

Location: Coventry

Due to continued success and growth, our client are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team! Working within a team or independently, the Electrical Design Engineer will design electrical controls with E-plan software, distribution systems with Allen Bradley / Siemens / Honeywell and other types of HMI/ PLC control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

      Responsible for endto-end electrical design - electrical power distribution, cable sizing, SLD & panel design.

Experience developing control panels such as MCCs and AMF systems, and power distribution boards using components like ACBs, MCCBs, and relays.

Confident in applying UK standards including BS 7671, BS EN 6061, and HTMs, particularly for healthcare and institutional settings.

Working with Project Managers and other design engineers to ensure effective allocation of tasks.

Collaborating with internal design team members as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ensuring deliverables are of the required quality and delivered to projects on time and within budget.

Preparing specifications, drawings & schedules for electrical services.

Taking responsibility for the technical compliance of the electrical design to the customer's specifications, including (but not limited to) Safety and Legislative compliance.

Production & maintenance of the necessary design documentation to substantiate the design and application to a project (performance calculations, test plans, material and component selection justifications, etc.) to a high standard.

Work together with the design team to ensure the delivery of customer handover manuals and documentation

Conducting site surveys.

 Attending project and technical meetings.

Key Skills:

      Degree Qualified, or equivalent experience

Power & Electrical Design capability Including System design & Component Selection Understanding of Control and Instrumentation devices related to Building services, HVAC.

 Relevant experience - Distribution systems and PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Honeywell

Valid UK driving licence

FMEA & Safety Capabilities Ability to write and carry out Safety Assessments + Reliability analysis.

Beneficial Skills:

      Background in Building Services and / or Heating & Ventilation

Previous experience with large energy centers.

Previous healthcare and hospital project experience.

Knowledge of the HTMs

Likeable and collegiate attitude
