Company Profile:

A leading organisation in the recycling sector is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Supervisor to join their team. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of health and safety across operations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a business striving for industry-leading practices in health, safety, fire prevention, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities:

Lead and promote a positive HSE culture, working towards industry-leading standards. Review, maintain, and communicate health and safety policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental legislation and guidelines. Liaise and report to external agencies as required. Manage and develop induction and training programs for staff and contractors. Conduct and document risk assessments across all depots and maintenance sites. Develop and maintain COSHH, MSDS, and risk assessment documentation. Investigate and report accidents and near misses; implement corrective actions. Conduct workplace inspections, audits, site safety walk-throughs, and HS&E audits. Deliver toolbox talks and support staff training on health and safety practices. Manage First Aid, Occupational Health, PPE provisions, and ensure adequate training. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation and reports.

Skills / Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience of the recycling and wood products industries. Understanding of environmental and sustainability standards. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. Fire safety knowledge and experience. Full UK driving licence. Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Proficient in IT and report writing. Professional, customer-focused manner.
