Our client is a well-established, mid-sized manufacturing business based in the heart of Coventry. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, they're seeking an exceptional Finance Manager to join their growing team and play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to step into a senior role as the number two to the Finance Director. You'll have the autonomy to lead and develop a small finance team whilst making meaningful contributions to strategic business decisions.

Working full time with a flexible approach to location, you'll typically be in the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for an excellent work-life balance whilst maintaining significant responsibility and influence within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • P&L Management: Take ownership of profit and loss reporting, ensuring accuracy and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions
  • Management Accounts: Enhance the quality and timeliness of management reporting, delivering meaningful insights to the senior leadership team
  • Business Partnering: Act as a trusted finance partner to operational teams, providing commercial support and financial guidance to drive performance
  • Controllership: Maintain robust financial controls, oversee month-end processes, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Statutory Accounts: Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, working closely with external auditors and ensuring timely completion
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a small team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strategic Input: Work closely with the FD to influence key business decisions and drive financial performance
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices across the finance function
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical skills
  • Manufacturing Experience: Previous exposure to manufacturing environments highly desirable
  • Leadership Capabilities: Proven ability to manage and inspire a team
  • Resilience: Strong character with the ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
  • Systems Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
