IDVA Worker (Full Time) - Coventry, UK


Join a dedicated woman's organisation with over 45 years of experience in providing vital support to women in need. They are committed to empowering women from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from BME communities. Their mission is to create a safe and supportive environment for our service users, offering emergency and temporary accommodation while also engaging with the community. With offices in Coventry and Leicester, they pride ourselves on their inclusive approach and the expertise of our in-house solicitors who assist with immigration matters.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and advocacy to women experiencing domestic violence.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for service users.
  • Assist with accessing emergency and temporary accommodation.
  • Engage with service users in the community to promote their well being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the Oasis system.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with vulnerable women, particularly in domestic violence settings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in report writing and documentation.
  • Computer literacy, with experience using the Oasis system or similar software.
  • Understanding of BME cultures and the challenges faced by service users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • IDVA or IDSA qualification (desirable) - Increase in wage is available if qualified.
  • Fluency in additional languages is an advantage.
