We require a NaVCIS Deputy Head of Unit to cover an existing workload within National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS), based in Ryton (Hybrid working).
This is an interim position for an initial 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.
Job Purpose:
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as the Deputy Head of Unit (NaVCIS Operations’ Manager), within a national policing unit working to ensure safer communities in the UK and around the world.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall management of the operational delivery and ensure the organisation’s strategic vision, values and objectives in protecting the UK from the threat of vehicle finance fraud / theft related crime as well as support wider vehicle crime work-streams.
- NaVCIS is a national police team that forms part of the NPCC National Vehicle Crime Portfolio.
- It consisting of about 40 staff and supervisors who work both on site at the College of Policing, at ports and others who work remotely for operational need.
Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:
- Significant experience of strategic leadership including partnership working; continuous improvement; achieving business objectives; compliance and change management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to represent and promote the organisation and its work.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly writing and presenting of reports and documents to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of managing and developing staff and robustly managing performance, conduct and attendance.
This role offers a competitive salary of £45,147 - £48,894 per annum FTC – with the view to turning permanent.
