Junior Graphic Designer/Artworker

Location: Coventry, England

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday

A selection of their clients includes Federations and Clubs from Football, Rugby, Ice Hockey, American Sports and more!

In addition to their success in the sporting industry they have established key relationships with buyers from the world of fashion, entertainment, leisure, and retail. Their factory is proud to be manufacturing and supplying to these key industries.

Their natural progression was to create a Group of Companies, each with a primary speciality and unique DNA.

Their Group includes:

  • Sports Company – Their own scarf and knitwear factory in Poland
  • World Brand Textile Company – Their textile sourcing division in The Netherlands
  • Sports Merchandise – Their scarf factory in the United Kingdom

The Role

The Company is a multi-brand business and a leading supplier to the sporting industry. They’re a friendly, design-led company and are looking for a Junior Designer to join their expanding and evolving in-house Design team, working full time, Monday to Friday.

Based in their Coventry office, you will be working alongside their established sales and production team to visually interpret creative briefs to produce design concepts and artwork for products and packaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality artwork in response to the client brief.
  • Develop innovative design solutions using a variety of software.
  • Ensure all designs are in line with the brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual style.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine designs.
  • Provide creative support and solutions to design briefs. Including but not limited to, templates, layouts, graphics, creative concepts, illustrations for both online and offline purposes.
  • Create offline material such as press adverts, point of sale, brochures, packaging, exhibition graphics, product tickets and sales packs.
  • Create digital assets such as all website/online banners, social media content, e-shots, PDFs, and product assets.
  • Image editing, including optimisation, colour correction, isolating, resizing, and retouching.
  • Maintaining and updating the image and catalogue libraries.
  • And other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your creativity, design skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Basic understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and colour theory.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Great attitude and strong team player.
  • Ability to work with client briefs.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail: Demonstrate a keen eye for design aesthetics, colour, layout, and typography.
  • File management: Organise and maintain design files on a SharePoint, ensuring a well-structured and accessible library of digital assets.
  • Image editing/manipulation: Enhance and edit images, photographs, and illustrations to achieve desired visual effects, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualification in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Experience in designing for production, pre-print production and digital platforms such as websites and social media.
  • A keen interest in professional sporting teams
